Experimenting with recreational drugs

It seems that no only students experiment with recreational drugs, many governments and scientists have seen that there could be potential possible other uses for these drugs. But they have not just been sitting around thinking about it, they have actually been getting stick in and devised some really off the wall experiments.

Just in case you happen to be wondering what type of experiments they have been conducting, here are just a few examples:

Harvard Scientists Build a Device to Smoke Weed During a Brain Scan
Stanford Chemists make THC from Scratch
Researchers Learn How Salvia Works
British Army Tests LSD on Soldiers
Researchers Combine Chemicals from Sea Urchin Eggs and Weed to Make Powerful Painkillers

Clearly there are some potential winners there if the experiment actually worked at all, but considering that there are not many doctors issuing any of these a treatments, then we can safely say that these experiments were not very successful.
