The Majority of DNA is junk

The great thing about the human genome project is that the researchers have been able to unravel some of the secrets behind DNA.

One of these findings is that they believe that the majority of the 3.2 billion pairs of base pairs are actually junk, which serves no purpose to help improve the human race.

In fact the whole human genome can be placed onto a single CD, which if you think of it as a simple song then only five per cent of this song would be useful to us.

Maybe it’s a matter of evolution and these parts of the DNA which are considered junk are not ready to be used yet, or have been made use of in the past and are just a record of these changes that have taken place of the history of the human race.
