Staying healthy the easy way

Keeping healthy is the priority of many people today, but maybe not enough people! As obesity seems to be on the rise this has become a real problem, but only because people get out of the habit if staying fit.

Here is what you can do to stay fit:

Fruits & Vegetables - Up to nine servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Good Enough: Five a day

Exercise - 30 minutes of cardio, five or more days a week. Good Enough: 17 minutes a day

Sunscreen - Apply SPF 30 or higher several times a day. Good Enough: Use SPF 15

Staying Hydrated - Eight 8-ounce glasses of water daily, Good Enough: Drink with meals and when you’re thirsty

Sleep - Eight hours a night. Good Enough: Seven hours

Portion Sizes - Measure everything you eat. Good Enough: Size up grains and fats only

Strength Training - Two or three times a week. Good Enough: Once a week

Washing Your Hands - Lather for at least 15 to 20 seconds before rinsing. Good Enough: Wash for 10 seconds, then rinse

A Healthy Weight - BMI between 19 and 25. Good Enough: Aim to lose 5 to 7 percent of your current body weight
