Coffee can affect fertility

Researchers in Holland have been looking into the effects of drinking coffee and the how it affects the fertility of women.

The research was based around nine thousand women who were planning were using IVF to get pregnant, but in the test they wanted to see what the rate would be if they tried the natural method.

The result was that one in seven fell pregnant; however the research found that those women who regularly drank more than four cups of coffee per day were actually reducing their chances of getting pregnant by around twenty six per cent.

Drinking coffee can be compared to drinking alcohol as this also has a similar effect, whereas smoking and being overweight reduces the chances of getting pregnant even more.
