Cancer vaccine from Tobacco
This has to be one of the classics, something good coming from something that is considered now to be completely evil. Trials of a new vaccine could become the way to treat the potentially fatal disease non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
This would have been something really special in any case, but you find out that the vaccine has been grown in genetically engineered tobacco plants, and then it suddenly takes on a completely new concept.
The human trials of this vaccine have already started, should these prove to be successful, then the vaccine, which can be produced very fast and in fact relatively cheaply, could then become the first line of attack for newly diagnosed patients.
The vaccine will work with other forms of treatment in order to prevent the disease from getting worse.
