Anti AIDS drug a success

Clinical trials of an HIV vaccine have been reported as being a success by the researchers at the Tuberculosis Research Centre in India.

Although this is an early stage in the first phase of the trial there have been some great reports coming in with regards to the safety and more importantly the effect that the vaccine has in boosting the body’s ability to increase immune responses.

However, this is early days, as the two previous trails in Germany and Belgium both failed to achieve the desired affects.

Even if this vaccine was a success, the trials are likely to continue for at another eight years leaving any immediate chance of a vaccine still out of reach, but there are around thirty volunteers at different stages of the testing.
