Vaccine for Arthritis coming soon

There is a chance that within a few years there could be an injection available for arthritis sufferers which is said to work like a vaccine.

It works by taking cells from the patient; these are then altered and simply injected into the affected joint or joints.

With over 350,000 people in the UK suffering from the disease there will be a lot of interest in this particular treatment as it goes through the testing and development stages.

The research is being developed by a team lead by John Isaacs, Professor of Clinical Rheumatology at Newcastle University’s Musculoskeletal Research Group; they believe that although this treatment is in the very early stages, it is an important step forward to finding a cure for arthritis.
