Online support differs on type of illness

The type of cancer that sufferers have will have a direct effect on the quality of help and advice that the patient can expect to receive from the online support sites, which are out there for these patients.

It seems that the patient who is suffering from a cancer that has a high survival rate will in fact receive more help and advice than a patient in a similar position but suffering from a cancer, which generally has a lower survival rate.

The study undertaken by researchers at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System and the University of Michigan Health System, found that differences in an online support directly went in line with the seriousness of the cancer. Whereas all cancer patients should be getting the some support from online services.
