Faulty gene makes drinkers aggressive

Anyone that has ever seen people who have drunk too much would have to ask why they all tend to act differently, the most worrying being those drinkers who turn aggressive.

It seems that recent research from Finland has found alcohol can have a violent trigger effect in some people. This is because some people have an overactive gene known as MAOA, which affects the brain chemistry and effect moods.

Once alcohol is introduced this produces a what has been described as a dangerous cocktail that could lead to violent behaviour.

The solution to this problem is simple, when the gene is identified in people they could be offered therapy to help them curb their tempers or be warned just to stay away from alcohol all together.
