Heavy smoking helps put weight on

Virtually everyone knows that smoking is bad for you, but as with many other things, this warning is not being taken up by everyone who smokes. However new research shows that smoking as a teenager may have other side affects that may not be very welcome.

A study from Finland has found that teenagers who smoke often think that this habit is the key to keeping thin, but this study has found that teenagers who have been heavy smokers are more likely to end up fat too.

At the moment there is no direct link, this is just a theory. However, the study has used research, which tracked twins, and those teenagers aged between sixteen and eighteen, who smoked more than ten cigarettes per day often, end up with weight problems, this is believed to be much higher in women.
