Stolen bone found in neck

Having a neck operation is serious enough, but an operation that meant having a piece of bone implanted into the neck to relieve constant back pain, is something else. Especially when the patient later finds out that the bone had been stolen from a corpse.

It is believed that a defunct company called Biomedical Tissue Services had a network of funeral directors of which they had made deals with. The bodies that were sent to these funeral parlours were then subjected to having bones, tendons and even heart valves removed without any permission and these tissues sent to hospitals to replace damaged parts on patients.

This is a big case that is growing all of the time, with the injured parties starting to sue for damages.
