What has the highest germ rates?

There seem to be more germs around these days, more than we have ever seen before, and yet there are actual places that are more germ infested than others, according to research by Dr Charles Gerba PhD, who is professor of environmental microbiology at the University of Arizona.

There is now a list of the top ten germ heavens, would you like to know what they are?

The Kitchen Sink,
Airplane Bathrooms,
Wet or damp laundry,
Drinking Fountains in public places,
Shopping Cart Handles,
ATM Machines,
Playgrounds,
Your Bathroom,
Office phones,
And finally, Hotel room remote control.

I have to admit that there are a few surprises there and I will on the rare occasions that I actually get out be taking some wet wipes with me!

What a great post. I was really surprised by the kitchen sink in the list. I must use bleach more often down there I guess, and start carrying around some wipes for the shopping cart handes. All the best Jo Miller (Norwich UK)
