Sound destroys viruses

Researchers at Arizona State University have been working on how to destroy viruses, this is a serious venture because a virus can be anything from flu to something even more deadly, and in many cases there is nothing that can be done to prevent a virus from running its course.

However the research team have found that it could be sound that holds the key and that by using precise mathematical calculations a virus could actually be shaken to death.

Apparently a virus cell is surrounded by something like the shell of a tortoise, and should this somehow become unstable and break then the virus itself would become inactive and the patient becomes virus free. There have been experiments using a laser, but this is clearly in the initial stages and will be sometime before this is perfected.
